Simply put, this is the best mexican market + taquero in ventura county period. Don't let the exterior or shopping center fool you - this is THE SPOT. The carnicería is top notch and they have some great prices on everything from traditional mexican fare (ranchera, costilla, adobada, pollito) to more regular cuts like ribeyes, new yorks etc.
However, the real secret is the hot food counter in the back...what a gem. They make the absolute best street tacos, burritos, and quesadillas ever - every single traditional ingredient from small to large is carefully prepared and seasoned in its own way. The asada, pollo, lengua, al pastor, and birria are legendary when it comes to flavor - you can't go wrong with any of those. Pick one or more of their homemade salsas (aguacate y roja for me por favor) and your tastebuds will be in heaven, I guarantee it. Order a birria burrito and have them throw some consomé on top...you can thank me later.
Best part? This place is cheaaaappp. You get a monster burrito for $9 that's so jam packed full of flavor and meat that it's hard to not inhale it in 8 bites. We're talking real authentic food here; chipotle is child's play compared to this, why waste your ti. It's helpful to speak some spanish for the sake of ordering but shhhh don't tell the gringos. If you haven't eaten here yet, you are seriously missing out. -

Really great spot for lunch! Really cheap!
In the back, to the left of the butcher counter they sell fresh cooked meats. Choose your meat, choose what you want it in (ie taco, burrito, torta, quesadilla etc), then choose what you want on it or on the side (salsa, cilantro, onion, tomato/lettuce for tortas, rice and beans, grilled jalapeños, etc.)
You order, get your food and then pay up front. Eat at tables out front. They also have a lot of refrigerated drinks to choose from.
It gets pretty busy around lunch. Line goes fast though, but you have to know what you want! Lol guys behind the counter get a little grumpy if you slow 'em down during lunch rush. If it's your first time there and you think you'll ask questions, I'd recommend going before or after peak rush (~12-1pm)
Also recommend the meat special of the day, it's always cheaper than the normal price, like $1/taco
It's definitely worth a trip :) -

VERY RUDE CASHIER ! Customers shouldn't have to hear about her personal problems ! She wasn't watching what she was doing and started to charge me for the next customers items ,then got upset with me when I said that isn't mine ! She was totally rude and wrong ! While I was explaining she rudely interrupted me and said " no speak English " then she said something rude to the box girl about me . Hey ! I know and understand Spanish ! The surprised look on her face when I replied back to her in Spanish !
I ve been coming here for decades and have spent thousands of dollars but it isn't about the money its about how we are treated.

Best al pastor in town. The butcher also has fresh meats for great prices.
Really happy I found this place, I work down the street and will be grabbing numerous al pastor burritos in the foreseeable future. -

I never finish an entire burrito... unless it is from Mercado Guadalajara. Don't be deceived by the fact that this is a market. Their hot food in the back is served cafeteria style. The food servers and cook serve food made entirely on the premises. Everything is good. I always get a burrito with cabeza meat. So rich, so tender, so flavorful. Literally delicious.
The market has lots of stuff, much of it The Mexican market version of familiar products. The deli offers good quality meat, cheap.
This is the best kind of establishment: unpretentious, great food and modest prices.
